LOVE IS A GIFT FROM GOD

Prayer:
Father, we praise you this Wednesday morning. Happy Valentine’s Day! Thank you, Father, for giving us this day, our daily bread and for leading us not into temptation, but delivering us from all evil. Help us to see all the choices we have ahead of us so that we can alter the direction of our lives. In this new year, we don’t want to repeat or keep traveling the same road. Give us the wisdom on how to handle situations in our lives. We ask You to empower us to let go of the painful events and heartaches that would keep us bound. Thank You for Your forgiveness that You have offered to us at such a great price. Pour it into our hearts so we can relinquish bitterness, hurts and disappointments that have no place in our lives. Please set us free to forgive those who have sinned against us and caused us pain, Open our hearts to receive Your complete forgiveness and amazing grace. You have promised to bind up our wounds and restore our soul. Create within us a clean heart and renew our spirit, Lord. Help us to relinquish our past, surrender to You our present and move to the future that You have prepared for us. I ask You to come into our hearts and make us who You have called us to be so that we might do Your will here on earth. We thank You Lord in advance. We pray that You will begin to gloriously renew our present. In JESUS name we pray, Amen. 
Reflections:
Today is a day that we celebrate "Love". It is a day that we call Valentine’s Day. A day to show our love and honor to our loved ones and our significant other. A lot of us will go out and buy cards, balloons, flowers, candy or gifts just to show our appreciation and love for one another. But the same way that we show our love to one another on this day, we can continuously show that type of love all year round. Every day is a day to love. God commands us to love. He said in his word that there is no greater love than a man has to lay down his life for his friend, which means not literally lay your life down your life, but lay down some of the things that you got going on in your life; to be there for someone else, to see what’s going on in someone else’s life, to assist them and offer a helping hand. Our love walk is messed up. We loosely say "I love you". Your mouth says love, but your actions say something else that’s not loving. Love is caring. Love is kind. Love is dependable. Love is responsible. Love is available. Love is faithful. Love is supportive. Love is accountable. Love is respectful. Love is honest. Love is compassionate. Love is a gift from God. I thank God that he has allowed me, in my lifetime, to experience true love. Sometimes in life, we lose love ones and sometimes love comes to an end because people change. They allow the cares of this world, certain situations and circumstances to change them. Then they say they fell "out of love". Some just don’t know how to love. They are incapable of loving but once you experience love, unconditional love, it's love on a whole new level. But loving with conditions means that we love a person if a situation stays this way or that way or if a person is able to do this for me or if you continue to have this type of money or if you continue to drive this type of car or if you have this type of job or if you have this type of influence or if you stay looking a certain way. But if any of that changes, then their love changes and that’s not unconditional love. That’s not loving in a Godly way. That’s fake, false Love. Unconditional love is solid, grounded and unmovable. No one wants to truly be involved or love someone with a condition. God says that love covers a multitude of sin and it’s a blessing to love and be loved. To love family, your kids and friends is a blessing. To love and have love being reciprocated back to you is a blessing from God. So do not dishonor, disrespect or disregard the gift that God has given us, to be able to truly love one another another. Love with no limits. God is Love and we are from God so love like you are from love and created from Love .
