Purpose of Christmas

 WORDS OF WISDOM:

PURPOSE OF CHRISTMAS

SCRIPTURE:

MATTHEW 2:10-11

“When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.”

MORNING PRAYER:

Father, I thank you on this SATURDAY MORNING. Thank you for waking me up this morning. This HOLY DAY. Thanks for life, love and the gift of your Son, my LORD and Savior. Show me what you want me to do today to show your love and amazing power today, on this Christmas day. Father, I’m  asking you to continue to give us guidance, wisdom, knowledge, clarity, understanding  and peace. Keep us this weekend, Father, out of harms way, from unseen danger. Surround us with love and the peace of GOD. Father, we thank you for watching over us and for providing for us. Help us not to take life for granted nor those that are in our life for granted. Life is too short not to celebrate those we love that are still here with us. Today, we will show those we love that we love them  by placing a phone call, a text, sending them a card or if possible, going to visit them. Father, I’m so grateful and thankful for everything you have done and everything that you will and continuously do in me and for my family, friends and love ones. Father, I ask that you give us the understanding of the season for Christmas. It’s not about gifts, but the giver of the gift of life.  I know that it’s about Love and about JESUS. I ask that you bless those that are less fortunate then us. Heavenly Father, meet the needs of those that don’t have a place to lay their heads and for the homeless to obtain shelter. Father, I pray for open doors. LORD, I pray that you touch those that are sick in hospitals and nursing homes. I pray for those that are incarcerated and dealing with this deadly virus.  I know you have spoken of these times in the word, but give us wisdom LORD and protect us. I pray for the nation and the peace of Israel and the peace of Jerusalem. I pray for the mental health and for deliverance from all addictions. Father GOD, I ask you to please guide us on the right path with clear direction and help us to pray and extend our love and compassion towards others through this season of testing and trying times. I’m so grateful for your grace, mercy and your unconditional love. I love you Father. We pray this in JESUS name, Amen 🙏🏽

MY REFLECTIONS:

Christmas is a time of spiritual reflection on the important foundations of the Christian faith. It’s also a celebration. It’s when Christians celebrate GOD'S love for the world through the birth of the Christ child: Jesus. The Bible tells of his birth hundreds of years before, fulfilling prophecies. The Christmas story is recorded in Luke 2 -4: 19. It's that time of year again. December, 25  has come and with it all the joys of Christmas. But what is the real meaning of Christmas? Is it the gifts under the tree, the lights in the windows, the cards in the mail, turkey dinners with family and friends, snow in the yard, stockings hanging in the living room, and shouts of "Merry Christmas" to those who pass us in the streets? Is this really Christmas?

We think that's just a part of it, embodied in a definition of the "the true meaning of Christmas," To give up one's very self to think only of others how to bring the greatest happiness to others. That is the true meaning of Christmas."

Sure, the giving of gifts gives us joy, but this should only be a small part of the meaning we find in Christmas. The true meaning of Christmas is love. John 3:16-17 says, "For GOD so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For GOD did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him." The true meaning of Christmas is the celebration of this incredible act of love. The real Christmas story is the story of GOD becoming a human being in the Person of JESUS Christ. Why did GOD  do such a thing? Because He loves us! Why was Christmas necessary? Because we needed a Savior! Why does GOD love us so much? Because He is love itself (1 John 4:8). Why do we celebrate Christmas each year? Out of gratitude for what GOD did for us, we remember His birth by giving each other gifts, worshipping Him, and being especially conscious of the poor and less fortunate. GOD loved His own and provided a way, the only Way for us to spend eternity with Him. He gave His only Son to take our punishment for our sins. He paid the price in full, and we are free from condemnation when we accept that free gift of love. "But God demonstrated His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." With this in mind, Christmas can be a season of great joy. It is a time of God showing His great love for us. It can be a time of healing and renewed strength. Sure, enjoy the season but remember to rejoice as well! After all, the true meaning of Christmas is the celebration of God's ultimate gift: the birth of Jesus, the Christ child!

SCRIPTURE:

MATTHEW 1:21

She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.

ISAIAH 7:14

Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.”

‭‭GOOD MORNING, Family, Friends and Love Ones! Have a blessed day and remember that JESUS is the Reason for Christmas and not the tree 🌲 or gift 🎁 under it!

JESUS is my Everything
